As you may know, rapidshare link protection sites are becoming increasing popular. This VERY short guide will tell you how to get the original link, and it is aimed at rapidshare, but will work with some other services.
- Some link protection sites will simply embed the url into an i-frame. These sites are rare as they are just masking the url, offering no protection at all. You can simply view the source code to find the url.
- Others offer slightly more complex protection systems. Some sites will perform Base64 encoding, ROT13, or both on the URL. These can be decoded easily using many free tools available on the web via a quick search on google.
- The best level of protection is when the url is encrypted with a random alpha-numerical value, stored in a MySQL database so the system can recognise the URL. However, this system can be bypassed, but will take longer than the first two methods. After the rapidshare timer counts down, enter an invalid code. RapidShare will then throw up the expected error page, and a Try Again link. This link is the original non-protected link. (You can also allow the file to timeout to get the link.)
