At the office, there are two solaris machines which are not used and lying on the floor in the garage.
instead of using it as a practice machine, it can be used as a smtp or web server.

At the beginning, it is a bit confused for example, how to install it without a monitor.
Search a tutorial in the google, it needs to use a console cable. wkwkwkw I have never used such latest technology.
The problem was when I was going to install but nothing got detected, after some thoughts of it, I disable the port serial.
When I was going to install, a notice came out “cant open boot device” and “there is no hard disc”
In fact, the solaris cannot be booted automatically but it has be done manually.
The following are the steps (only important parts cos the rest of them you only need to click on next and ok buttons) on how to instal freebsd 6.3 in solarise machine.
1. Click on “boot cdrom” until it starts booting the cdrom
look at the following picture
2. After the booting procedure completes, a menu to choose the terminal console will appear to install according to your taste.
I am going to pick selection number one then enter.
look at the following picture
3. Then we proceed to system main menu, please pick standard menu.
With Linux, we choose with a tab button or arrow but in here, those buttons do not have the functions. Choose with number menu. Choose the standard one so it wont get too complicated.
Click on two and then enter
4. For partition, the amount of partisions depends on your needs, but you must have dir / and swap
If you are not sure with the division or the size, choose automatic setting and then click on a
If you want to create your own, choose menu c and then to adjust clik on Q
5. To choose the distribution package (for standard menu click on 4)
6. Select media installer
next..next..next .. Finish .
next time.. with other tutorial.
